By William Mackay: After winning the 2012 Olympic super heavyweight boxing gold medal, Britain’s Anthony Joshua is still seen as a work in progress by many boxing fans. They point out the reason why Joshua struggled through the Olympic competition and won several questionable decisions along the way was because Joshua has been boxing for only four years. The problem here is that a lot of Joshua’s competition in the Olympics were about the same age as him at 22, and if Joshua gets better you got to imagine the guys he competed against will get better as well. Joshua’s wins over Erislandy Savon, Ivan Dychko and Roberto Cammerelle were highly questionable ones. Savon and Dychko are both only 22.

Audley Harrison looked better winning his gold than Anthony Joshua did in winning his medal
By Scott Gilfoid: I must say that after watching Britain’s Anthony Joshua win the gold medal in the super heavyweight division today against Italy’s Roberto Cammarelle in controversial fashion for the third time in this year’s Olympics, I think Audley Harrison of Britain did a MUCH better job of winning his Olympic super heavyweight gold medal in the 2000 Olympics.
Is Joshua’s gold medal victory tainted?
By Scott Gilfoid: In looking around at some of the general comments I’m seeing around the internet about British super heavyweight Anthony Joshua’s questionable gold medial decision victory over Italy’s Roberto Cammarelle earlier today on Sunday in Joshua’s home country of England, it appears that not too many boxing fans feel that the 22-year-old Joshua really deserved to get the decision. They pretty much unanimously see Joshua having lost to Cammarelle today. I think that kind of taints Joshua’s victory, doesn’t it?
Cammarelle deserved to get the gold medal, not Joshua
By Scott Gilfoid: You only had to take one look on the face of talented Italian super heavyweight Roberto Cammarelle to know how completely disgusted he was with the judges decision to give Britain’s Anthony Joshua the gold medal in their 2012 Olympic super heavyweight gold medal finals match in London, England.
Joshua wins gold medal on controversial decision over Cammarelle
By Scott Gilfoid: For the 2nd time in the Olympic competition, Britain’s home fighter Anthony Joshua won a controversial decision in a fight he appeared to lose at home in London in the 2012 super heavyweight Olympic competition. Joshua beat 2008 Italian super heavyweight gold medalist Roberto Cammarelle by a 18-18 score, which then went into a countback tie-breaker. Joshua was given the gold based on his last round score of 8-5.
Will Cammarelle have to KO Joshua to ensure he gets the win on Sunday?
By Scott Gilfoid: Reigning 2008 Olympic super heavyweight champion from Italy Roberto Cammarelle goes into this Sunday’s 2012 gold medal fight against British home fighter Anthony Joshua in London, England. We’ve already seen Joshua win two controversial decisions in his three bouts, although I personally consider all three of Joshua’s wins as being controversial.
