If you take away those four knockdowns, Cunningham would have won the fight clearly.

Glowacki got the victory by a 12 round unanimous decision by the scores of 116-108, 115-109 and 115-109 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. But you’ve got to ask yourself when was the last time you saw a fighter get knocked down four times and wind up losing by the slim 115-109 scores we saw in that fight.

Krzysztof Glowacki vs. Steve Cunningham possible for April

1-Garcia_Cunningham_7-22-15_18425By Allan Fox: After sitting out of action for the past six months due to injury related problems, WBO cruiserweight champion Krzysztof Glowacki (25-0, 16 KOs) will be looking to return to the ring in April against former IBF cruiserweight champion Steve Cunningham (28-7-1, 13 KOs) in a voluntary defense.

Glowacki, 29, won the WBO cruiserweight title last August with an 11th round stoppage win over former champion Marco Huck. Glowacki has been dealing with an injury to his left elbow and wrist, which required surgery to repair. He’s been rehabbing the problem since then. It’s only now that Glowacki is able to get ready to return to the ring.

Tarver, 46, came into the fight needing a big win to get him pushed up closer to the top five so that he could lure IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs) into fighting him. But instead of getting a win, Tarver had to settle for getting a 12 round draw against Cunningham by the scores of 115-113 for Cunningham, 115-113 for Tarver, and 114-114.

While Deontay, 6’7”, gave the 46-year-old Tarver credit for being able to hang in there with the fast 204lb Cunningham, Wilder thinks that there’s no way that Tarver would have been able to go the distance with him had he been in there with him rather than Cunningham.

The final judges’ scores were 115-113 for Cunningham, 115-114 for Tarver, and 114-114.

After witnessing an exciting fight in the co-feature between Marco Huck and Krzyzstof Glowacki, the boxing fans were kind of spoiled by the time the Tarver-Cunningham fight took place for the main event. The fans expected nonstop action, but unfortunately the 46-year-old Tarver was only capable of throwing occasional hard left hand power shots. Before long, the crowd started booing the lack of action, and they pretty much continued to boo off and on from the 2nd round until the 12th.

Tarver, 46, cannot lose this fight if he wants a fight against IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko before he steps away from the game. If Tarver loses the fight, then he might as well consider retirement because it’ll take too long for him to rebuild after a loss of this nature.
