By Chris Williams: Terence Crawford took to social media to gloat over his rise to the top and kick sand in the face of two fighters who had ignored him for years, Danny Garcia & Keith Thurman.
Terence says he’ll “never” fight either of them, even though both are more popular than most of the fighters at 154, and he could make millions.
Confucius: ‘While seeking revenge, dig two graves – one for yourself.”
Crawford is going about getting revenge against Danny & Thurman the wrong way because he would be better off fighting them, making millions, and proving that he’s the better fighter rather than following their same avoidance pattern.
Crawford = Hypocrite
Also, Crawford needs to understand that he’s 100% hypocrite, choosing to ignore Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis because he’s not a big name. Crawford is acting towards Boots in the same way that Thurman & Danny did towards him, but he’s too blind to see it, or he’s conveniently overlooking that he’s the same type of person as them.
Crawford doesn’t want anything to do with Boots because has has nothing to offer him, and it would be very hard work fighting him. He could lose to Boots because he wouldn’t be weight-drained and/or wrecked from a 200 mph car crash.
If Crawford were willing to fight Boots Ennis, it would still make him look petty for shutting out Thurman & Garcia from fighting him, but it wouldn’t be quite as bad. At least he wouldn’t be a hypocrite, but he won’t fight Boots. So Crawford is in the same boat as Thurman & Danny Garcia.
Why Danny & Thurman didn’t fight Crawford earlier in his career:
- No fan base
- Poor at marketing his fights
- Absent social media presence
- Counter-puncher
- Switch-hitting southpaw
- Fought on a different network
- Different promoter
- A mover
Crawford (40-0, 31 KOs), who is coming off his biggest & ONLY win against an elite-level fighter in his fifteen-year career, took a moment to crow about his perch at the top ladder of the sport and to relish the woeful state of Danny Swift & ‘One Time’ Thurman’s once-promising careers.
Terence probably won’t get the big fights he wants against Canelo Alvarez & Jermell Charlo once he gets past his rematch with Errol Spence Jr. If Crawford is going to retire in three more fights, then all he can hope for are fights against these fighters:
- Tim Tszyu
- Jesus Ramos
- Erickson Lubin
Jermell won’t be worth fighting if he loses to Canelo on September 30th, and the Mexican star isn’t going to bother fighting Crawford because it’s not worth it. He won’t receive credit for beating Crawford.
My my how the tables have turned. @DannySwift you @keithfthurmanjr will never and I mean never get a shot at the top dog and that’s me. Y’all hoe assess didn’t want no smoke when I wanted to fight member. Now y’all want to fight so bad 🤣🤣🤣 go keep fighting each other like b4
