At 6’8″ 250 pounds, Fury has the power of a young George Foreman and the movement of Wladimir Klitschko earlier in his career. Last week, Fury, 20, stopped German Marcel Zeller in a 3rd round TKO. Showing power, combinations and a punch variety that is seldom seen nowadays in the heavyweight division, Fury hurt Zeller with big shots to the body and head throughout the bout culminating with a blur of punches in the 3rd causing the fight to be stopped by the referee.

Champion John Murray (Manchester, England) and challenger Lee McAllister (Aberdeen, Scotland) squared off on Saturday night, sporting records of 25-0 and 27-1 respectively. This topped ITV’s first ‘Big Fight Live’ of 2009 and may have had more publicity if it wasn’t for another British lightweight, Amir Khan. An intriguing battle saw Murray retain his title and unbeaten record, despite a slightly flawed display.

Tyson Fury Stops Zeller – News

fury32242By Nate Anderson: In an impressive display of raw punching power, British heavyweight prospect Tyson Fury (2-0, 2 KOs) stopped German Marcel Zeller (21-4, 20 KOs) in the 3rd round of a scheduled six-round bout tonight at the Robin Park Centre, Wigan, in Lancashire. Fury, 20, hurt Zeller with a right hook to the head in the 3rd and then landed a series of right hands to the body and head as Zeller tried to cover up against the ropes.

fury5Tyson Fury, British boxing’s biggest new star, has taken on a risky second professional fight at the Robin Park Arena in Wigan on Saturday, 17th January against an opponent who has won 20 of his 21 wins by stoppage with only three losses. Former ABA champion Fury (Manchester) made an excellent debut when he stopped Bela Gyongyosi with a body shot in the first round in Nottingham last month.
