(Matthew Macklin seen here after getting knocked out by a body shot from Gennady Golovkin) By Scott Gilfoid: British fighter Matthew Macklin says he wants to give some helpful tips to Kell Brook (36-0, 25 KOs) to help him get ready for his fight against IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (35-0, 32 KOs) in a little over two weeks from now on September 10 at the O2 Arena in London, England.
It’s hard to understand what useful advice Macklin could have for Brook to help him against Golovkin, because he was knocked out in the 3rd round by him three years ago in 2013. Macklin ran around the ring trying not to get hit by GGG. Eventually, Golovkin caught up with Macklin and knocked him put with a body shot in the third round.
“I fought Golovkin and didn’t fare too well but hopefully I can pass on a few pointers to Kell and hopefully he can do a much better job,” said Macklin to skysports.com.
